Healthy Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

Make healthy chocolate banana ice cream using frozen bananas, cacao powder, almond milk, and almond butter. It's super tasty, healthful, dairy-free, and doesn't require an ice cream maker!

Throughout the summer, I seem to crave ice cream. Perhaps it's childhood recollections of chocolate and strawberry cones from Carl's Ice Cream, the greatest soft-serve ice cream parlor ever.

Or maybe it's because it's scorching hot outside and I need something to cool down. Regardless, I could eat ice cream every day.

It's always been my favorite dessert, so when I discovered out you could create banana ice cream with just one ingredient (frozen bananas), I was overjoyed.

I actually have to thank my mother-in-law for the concept, as she was the first to expose me to it. This was years ago, long before the world of Pinterest.

Everyone knows about frozen banana ice cream, which is fantastic!! I'm just waiting for someone to build a business in Richmond that serves nutritious fruit-based ice cream.

This summer, I've been obsessed with banana ice cream yet again. I've tried a variety of combinations and discovered a new fave.

Frozen bananas: I recommend peeling and cutting your bananas before freezing to make them easier to combine! For more information on freezing bananas, see my guide!
